In 1983, while attending The University of Georgia, Mr. Smith started his own business. Almost immediately, Smith Tile obtained contracts to install tile for some of the top general contractor in Athens and the northeast Georgia area. As a result of this exposure, many new contractors and homeowner began calling on him to do their tile work as well. Since the beginning Mr. Smith has installed high quality tile installation that have kept him and his company in high demand from people looking for good tile work.      

Stacy Lamont Smith has 26 years of experience installing ceramic tile, porcelain tile, quarry tile, granite tile, slate tile, marble tile, and glass block. Mr. Smith became involved with tile installation while working after school and on holidays with his grandfather, Jim Fair, who worked in the tile business for 35 years. During these formative years he was able to assist a true veteran at work doing every type of installation in the book.
